White Mesa Community Meetings (2023-2024)

Larry J. Echo Hawk (Pawnee) is an American attorney, legal scholar, and politician. A member of the Democratic Party, Echo Hawk served under U.S. President Barack Obama as the United States Assistant Secretary of the Interior for Indian Affairs from 2009 to 2012. He presently serves as special counsel and advisor to the Governor and to the Attorney General of the State of Utah for Indian affairs. He talks about his visit to a White Mesa Community Meeting.

Local historian Stan Bronson is writing a book that contains much history of the Ute communities, their families, and relationships of older generations and he shares some of this work in anticipation of the 100 Years or Silence project.
